Paws in the Park

PAWS IN THE PARK: September 7

All dogs are invited to this free event in Community Park. Participants will receive a goody bag filled with pet novelties, experience a pet fashion show, participate in an agility course, and watch a Frisbee show performed by Naperville’s Skydogz. Many pet vendors will have booths in the park and there will be a collection site for donated pet items to Almost Home Animal Foundation. Dogs must be leashed at all times and owners must pick up after their pets.

 

Fishing Derby

NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY: September 29

Spring into action this Fall with the Addison Park District as we plant tulips and daffodils. Fall-planted bulbs produce the first blooms of next year's season. the bulbs spend the winter making roots and come up early in the spring. So if you think that Fall is the time to stop gardening, think again - it's bulb planting time! Volunteer groups are asked to call (630) 833-0100 to sign up for this free event.

 

FISHING DERBY: September 30

The Addison Park District in cooperation with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County invite you to this annual event held at Wood Dale Grove Fishing Pond. The pond is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, rainbow trout and sunfish. There is a participation fee for this event and bait and goody bags will be provided. An awards ceremony will take place following the event at 10:15 a.m. Pre-registration is recommended.

 

Candy Carnival

CANDY CARNIVAL: October 29

Kids 10 years of age and younger are invited for a night of Halloween fun at Centennial Gym. There are a variety of games to play with treats for prizes and each person will receive an extra treat for coming in costume! Children must be accompanied by an adult during this event. Pre-registration is recommended.

 

MOVIE IN THE GYM: November 2

Bring your family and a blanket or lawn chairs to Centennial Gym and enjoy a movie on the big screen. Admission to the movie is free and concessions such as popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase.

 

Turkey Trot

TURKEY TROT: November 22

Walkers and runners of all ages are invited to participate in this annual event held on Thanksgiving morning at Community Park.  Each participant is eligible to win a frozen turkey by accurately predicting their finishing time for the 1 – 5 mile course. Kids 12 and younger may participate in the Drumstick Dash at 8:45, preceding the race start time at 9:00 a.m. This race is not chip-timed and timing devices of any kind are not allowed. Pre-registration is recommended, however event-day registration will be available. For an event flyer/registration form, click HERE.
