Disc Golf at Foxdale Park

In response to the growing popularity of disc golf, a 9-hole (basket) course was added to Foxdale Park, 1500 N. Itasca Rd. Unlike regular golf, there is no fee to play this course and a tee time is not required. This course is not lighted and the park is open from dawn until dusk.

There are some similarities to traditional golf in the way disc golf is played. The object of the game is to complete each hole in the fewest number of strokes, or throws. There is a starting tee box at each hole where players take aim at a target basket set at varying distances. Consecutive shots are taken from the place where the disc lands before reaching the target basket. Disc golf players share the same joys and frustrations as regular golfers, whether it’s sinking a long putt or hitting a tree in the fairway. Foxdale Park’s disc golf course is rated Par 3 appealing to both beginners and those wanting to improve their scoring shots. The course is set on fairly level terrain with only one water hazard.
